Photiades is particularly active within the community supporting a wide range of causes. We regularly attend local fund raising events for various charities, whilst we periodically organise and host our own events. This support is driven by the owners of the firm who bring enthusiasm and undoubted commitment to the causes the firm supports.
In one initiative Photiades became a hub to which buttons were sent for the ‘B’s Buttons’ Project following the key role that consultant solicitor Abigail Mann played in the B’s Buttons Project. The project was a schoolgirl's idea to collect 1.5 million buttons to build a Holocaust Memorial to the 1.5 million children murdered in the Holocaust.Abigail helped the Lakes Secondary School in Windermere collect the buttons and together they were so successful they beat their original target four times over. The Lakes School is located on the Calgarth Estate, which 75 years ago became home to 300 youngsters who were offered sanctuary by the British Government following the liberation of the concentration camps in 1945. Their story featured in the Warner Brothers film, The Windermere Boys.
